Following the initial announcement at Anime Expo 2023, Bandai Namco Filmworks has formally announced Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, releasing its teaser trailer, teaser visual, setting information and staff list.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, the latest original animated series, will be created through a collaboration between Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. and SAFEHOUSE Inc. using the Unreal Engine 5 3D production tool. A total of six episodes (each approximately 30 minutes long) will be streamed worldwide.
Requiem for Vengeance will take place at the European front during the One Year War, a conflict also depicted in the first Gundam series Mobile Suit Gundam. This series follows the themes such as conflict and love seen in previous Gundam titles, as well as human drama depicted through the clash of pilots who operate humanoid weapons called Mobile Suits.
Writer Gavan Hignight cited Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt and Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team as influences on the project.
