In conjunction with the release of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, the long-gestating theatrical film in the Gundam SEED series, Pia Corporation will be releasing “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Kira Yamato Pia”.
The mook focuses on the main character Kira Yamato. It features a comprehensive introduction to his past activities, famous quotes, and the mobile suits he has piloted. The mook also includes an interview with Kira’s voice actor, Sōichirō Hoshi, and the latest information on SEED Freedom.
Additionally, the cover will showcase an original illustration of Kira and Lacus, drawn specifically for the book. As a limited purchase bonus at TSUTAYA, an original A4 Clear File featuring the visual from the cover will be available in limited quantities.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Kira Yamato Pia will be released on January 22, 2024 (Monday) with a price of 1,650 yen.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom will release to theaters January 26, 2024.
The film is directed by Mitsuo Fukuda, featuring a script by Fukuda, Chiaki Morosawa, and Ryu Goto. Hisashi Hirai returns for character design, while the mechanical design team includes Kunio Okawara, Kimitoshi Yamane, Kazutaka Miyatake, Junichi Akutsu, Manabu Shintani, Zenseava, Takuya Io, and Hiroyuki Taiga. Satoshi Shigeta returns as mechanical animation director. Toshihiko Sahashi is the composer for the film’s music, and the theme song “FREEDOM” is performed by Takanori Nishikawa with Tetsuya Komuro.
Story
In C.E.75, the fighting still continues.
There are independence movements, and aggression by Blue Cosmos… In order to calm the situation, a global peace monitoring agency called COMPASS is established, with Lacus as its first president. As members of COMPASS, Kira and his comrades intervene into various regional battles. Then a newly established nation called Foundation proposes a joint operation against a Blue Cosmos stronghold.
