Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance to Stream on Netflix

A part of “GUNDAM Fan e-Festival 2023”, in a program titled “Gundam Latest Works” moderator Hisanori Yoshida and Bandai Namco Filmworks producers Toshikazu Naka and Hiroomi Ikeya revealed the latest information on Gundam franchises upcoming visual projects such as Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom and Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance

While there wasn’t much new information on Silver Phantom, aside from a teaser visual, a new trailer has been released for Requiem for Vengeance, along with an announcement that the series will be streaming exclusively on Netflix. A release date has yet to be announced.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance was announced at Anime Expo 2023 as a collaboration between Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. and SAFEHOUSE Inc.(Resident Evil, Love, Death & Robots) using the Unreal Engine 5 3D production tool. The series will be a total of six episodes (each approximately 30 minutes long).

Requiem for Vengeance will take place at the European front during the One Year War, a conflict also depicted in the first Gundam series Mobile Suit Gundam. This series follows the themes such as conflict and love seen in previous Gundam titles, as well as human drama depicted through the clash of pilots who operate humanoid weapons called Mobile Suits.

Writer Gavan Hignight cited Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt and Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team as influences on the project.
