Gundam production and distribution company Bandai Namco Filmworks(Sunrise) and publisher Kadokawa have both issued similar official statements regarding the “controversial” mention of marriage between the Witch from Mercury main characters Suletta Mercury and Miorine Rembran in an interview with actresses Kana Ichinose and Lynn in the September 2023 issue of Gundam Ace. The digital version of the monthly magazine was later edited to remove marriage from Ichinose’s comment. The Bandai company is choosing to leave their relationship and the events of the finale open to interpretation.

Who cares that? This series was poorl wroting…
You know I suspected that because of all the comments and conversations I’ve seen about this show the only thing they really talk about is the gay couple nothing else, so I was suspicious if it was even a good show to begin with if that’s the only thing that they really talked about
It was unfortunately trashed by Bandai – I do suspect some staff at some point on the production chain are weird conservatives about it, but it’s vapid to judge the quality of the show because you either saw the loud minority of conservative fans angry that gay people simply exist, or fans excited that there is a canon same-sex couple.
I would argue both camps have not been paying very close attention to Gundam *at all* since various creators for the series have more or less said “how could someone miss this obviously gay subtext” re: Char/Amuro mainly but others as well.
Them actually getting married was one the few things I liked(or now would have, apparently) about the shitty ending this show got
It’s hard for Bandai to go “nuh uh” to this since in the show, Eri clearly calls herself Miorine’s Sister-in-Law. That alone leaves nothing for interpretation. The suit at Bandai that made this statement most likely didn’t watch the show at all.
The entire show was mind-numbingly boring and poor, can’t say anything of value was lost. Not surprised this was the same writer behind freaking Guilty Crown and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress.
Good, hated their forced lgbt bullshit anyways. There was nothing genuine about it.
Yeah I heard that a lot about it as well
People like you literally think every LGBT fictional character is ‘forced’. It’s not forced, it was genuine. Suletta and Miorine are married, it canon, it literally in the show. You would have to be a moron to miss that fact.
The fact that nobody wanted this means it was forced. Just because they were “married” doesn’t mean anything about how it wasn’t forced. It was a forced woke Gundam. You would be a moron to miss that fact.
“Forced” and “woke” what’s it like to have your sense of sense of reality at the whims of the latest cuckservative moral panic du jour?
Dino and Kkrotto be like, “To virginity, and beyond!”
funny that a failed Jojo fan who is a poor gay version of Hnk, comes with his shit…
Well it’s their show they can do anything with it and say anything they want on the show, if people don’t like it they don’t have to watch it, besides Gundam is about storyline, characters, cool robots and action scenes, not about who’s gay who’s not and who’s married.
you might find that those things are part of the characters if you looked past your nose
