The film premiered on January 26, debuting at #1 in the Japanese box office, surpassing competitors such as Spy × Family Code: White, Poor Things, and the live-action Golden Kamuy film. On its third weekend, the film became the highest grossing Gundam film dethroning the 1982 Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space, which held the franchise box office record for forty-two years with 2.3 billion yen, while the 2021 Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash is the third highest performing franchise film at 2.23 billion yen. As of May 22, the film has amassed a cumulative total of 4.82 billion yen and selling 2.88 million tickets.
Though the film has come to an end in Japan and in regions like the US, Canada and Southeast Asia, SEED Freedom has been announced to release theatrically to 30 countries across Europe in June.

I’m glad I watched it and got the opportunity since I don’t use NETFLIX or Amazon Prime. I prefer watching the old fashioned way.
