New Life-Sized RX-78 Gundam Statue to be Erected for Osaka/Kansai Expo

A life-sized Gundam statue, standing approximately 17 meters tall, will make its first appearance in the Kansai region in Japan. This new statue will feature an unprecedented pose, with one knee raised and one arm extended, symbolizing a reach towards space and the future.

The statue will utilize materials from the moving life-sized Gundam previously displayed at “GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA” from December 2020 to March 2024 and will be reintroduced as the RX-78F00/E Gundam. The statue will be exhibited at the Osaka/Kansai Expo’s “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION” from April 13, 2025, to October 13, 2025. It should be noted that this statue will not be operational like the previous RX-78F00 Gundam.

Key Visual

The Osaka-Kansai Expo aims to create a “Future Society for Our Lives,” with one of its core plans being to outline the future beyond achieving SDGs. The “NEXT FUTURE” in the Gundam project signifies not only the future possibilities of Gundam but also the concept of thinking about the future together with Gundam, connecting with fans, and creating the next future society.
