While initially kept a mystery, Bandai Namco Filmworks(Sunrise) has announced the surprise casting for one of the new characters in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom film. Singer-Actor Win Morisaki will portray Black Knight Squad member Griffin Arbalest in the upcoming Gundam movie.
Griffin Arbalest is a member of the Foundation Queen’s Guard, the Black Knight Squad. At first glance, he appears to have a carefree personality, but he has great abilities.
Born in Myanmar, Win Morisaki was the lead vocalist of the J-pop idol boy band, PrizmaX. He made his acting debut in 2008 with the TV drama Gakkō ja Oshierarenai! and became best best known for portraying Daito in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One in 2018, where he said the popular line “I choose the form of Gundam”. Recently Morisaki performed both the opening and ending theme songs for the 2022 tokusatsu series Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, “Ore koso Only One” and “Don’t Boo! Donbrothers” .
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom will release to theaters January 26, 2024.
