Gundam ‘Requiem for Vengeance’ & ‘Silver Phantom’ Panel Announced for Anime Expo

Bandai Namco Filmworks(Sunrise) has announced their Gundam panel for Anime Expo 2024. The panel is stated to feature the latest Gundam works in the franchise including Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom.

The panel will be held on July 5, 2024, at 3:15 PM in the JW Marriott Platinum Ballroom. Guests include singer and talent Shoko Nakagawa(Gurren Lagann), voice actress Cristina Vee, and Gavin Hignight, the scriptwriter for Requiem for Vengeance.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance was announced at Anime Expo 2023 as a collaboration between Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. and SAFEHOUSE Inc.(Resident Evil, Love, Death & Robots) using the Unreal Engine 5 3D production tool. The six-episode series will debut on Netflix Fall 2024.

Story

In the year Universal Century 0079, a state of war began when the Principality of Zeon declared its independence from the Earth Federation government. In the war’s opening stages, the Zeon forces maintained an advantage thanks to the effectiveness of their new weapon, the mobile suit. However, they lacked the fighting strength to fully conquer Earth, and the war became a stalemate. Eleven months after the outbreak of war, a base in Zeon-occupied Eastern Europe is captured by the Federation Forces. A Zeon composite battalion is sent to recapture the base, and among its members are Solari and her Red Wolf Squadron, a mobile suit team that has only just arrived from space…

Silver Phantom was formally announced in November 2023 at Anime NYC as a co-production between Bandai Namco Filmworks and French virtual reality (VR) production company Atlas V for Meta Quest.

The project is described as:
