MSN-04FF Sazabi joins the Tamashii Nations brand ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> ver. A.N.I.M.E line of high end Gundam action figures. The “ver. A.N.I.M.E.”(Action New Imagination Memory Emotion) series features dynamic anime proportions and dense sculpting, as well as a state-of-the-art articulation system that allows fans to recreate the impressive action scenes from the figures’ respective anime works.
Originally designed by Yutaka Izubuchi, the MSN-04 Sazabi is the iconic Newtype-use mobile suit piloted by antagonist Char Aznable in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack film. The MSN-04FF variant was introduced as a rival unit for the RX-93ff Nu Gundam in a promotional video for Gundam Park Fukuoka at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport FUKUOKA. The major difference with the new Sazabi model is the addition of the two large Doublehorn Funnels.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack released to theaters in March 1988, directed by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, with character designs by Hiroyuki Kitazume, mobile suit designs by Yutaka Izubuchi, and mechanical designs by Yoshinori Sayama and GAINAX. Shigeaki Saegusa returned from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ to compose the music. Char’s Counterattack grossed 1.16 billion yen at the box office.
Story
