Sunrise(now Bandai Namco Filmworks) launched Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans MSV in December 2021 as a project to compile the variety of mobile suits announced in media other than the anime TV series and the gaiden Iron-Blooded Orphans: Gekko.
The eleventh entry in the MSV is the Gundam Zepar, designed by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa. It is a Gundam Frame mobile suit that is said to have been piloted by Embrylla, the first head of the Kujan family, during the Calamity War. Like the many other Gundam Frame mobile suits, Zepar derives its name from the 16th demon of the same name listed in the Ars Goetia from the grimoire The Lesser Key of Solomon.
It prioritizes mobility and is equipped with only a single sword and a small shield. By utilizing the thrusters on the backpack binders mounted on its back, it was able to perform unconventional maneuvers and move swiftly on the frontlines of the battlefield.
Armament: Zepar Sword
Similar to the Bael Sword used by Gundam Bael, this sword is mostly forged from rare metals.
Armament: Zepar Shield
To take advantage of Zepar’s mobility, this shield is small and lightweight. It features claws made from the same rare metal as the sword, allowing it to be used for both defense and offense.
In November 2022, Bandai Namco Entertainment launched Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G , a new smartphone app where fans can experience the world of Iron-Blooded Orphans through anime and game play. The app allows fans to play through the main Iron-Blooded TV series, and new content such as the spin off Urdr-Hunt and Side Stories. The app is available in the App Store and Google Play, currently without an international release.
