The Gundam digital event Gundam Online Expo has begun August 26 and will conclude September 6, 2021. Hosted by Bandai Namco, Bluefin Brands and Gundam Info, the event is tailored towards the North American fanbase and features a wide variety of content such as: industry panels, a model kit build by Mythbusters’s Adam Savage, a VR tour of The Gundam Base Tokyo, over 100 exclusive items, and streamed Gundam works.
Dubbed the “Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy”, releasing from 1981 to 1982, the film series is a recompilation of the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam anime series, directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino.

In the year 0079 of the Universal Century, the war between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon has reached a stalemate. However, when Zeon learns about the Federation’s new mobile suits being developed at the Side 7 space colony, Char Aznable launches an attack to destroy them. A boy named Amuro Ray finds himself caught up in the conflict when he becomes the unwilling pilot of the Federation’s new mobile suit – the Gundam.

Released in 2014, Gundam Reconguista in G celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Gundam franchise and saw the return of Gundam creator himself, Yoshiyuki Tomino helming an entry for the first time in fifteen years since 1999’s Turn-A Gundam.
The director is currently retelling the series in the form of five compilation films. The film series was announced in November 2018 as a part of the Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary Project. The compilations were to include new scenes and newly recorded, updated dialogue.

In an attempt to rescue Bellri and the others, Dellensen launches an attack on the pirate corps’s Megafauna. Bellri, forced into space combat in Earth orbit, fails to realize he is facing his former instructor and shoots him down with the G-Self.
Meanwhile, the Capital Army demands the return of the G-Self and Raraiya Monday, and deploys first the Mask team’s Elf Bullocks and then Becker’s Wuxia team. Behind the scenes, a crisis is developing which will drive them all to violate the taboos of SU-Cordism–the existence of a threat from space.

Announced in February 2020, a live action Gundam Build project was slated to be helmed by director Katsuyuki Motohiro(Psycho Pass, Ajin), a part of Bandai Spirits’s Gunpla 40th Anniversary celebration. Gundam Build Real began streaming March 29, 2021 on the Japanese-exclusive Gundam Channel. The premiere episode is available for the event with English subtitles.
