Announced in October to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series, Bandai Namco Filmworks(or Sunrise) will be releasing the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED 20th Anniversary Official Book.
This A4 size collection includes two sets of full-color books: a 250 page “Freedom” fanbook and an 100 page “Justice” book with setting materials. The Freedom fanbook will explain the world of the SEED series, as well as feature as previously released and newly drawn illustrations by character designer Hisaishi Hirai.
The entire set will be enclosed in a three-sided box case illustrated by Hisashi Hirai and chief mechanical animation director Satoshi Shigeta. Pre-orders from A-ON Store, Sunrise Store(Premium Bandai), and Movic include a bonus item of two different acrylic key chains, with newly drawn illustrations by Hisashi Hirai.
"Justice" Setting Book
Priced at 11,000 yen, pre-orders began for the anniversary set in November, with a scheduled release date for April 2023.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED aired from 2002-2003 directed by Mitsuo Fukuda and scripted by Chiaki Morosawa. The series features character designs by Hisashi Hirai, mechanical designs by Kunio Okawara and Kimitoshi Yamane, chief mecha animation direction by Satoshi Shigeta, and music by Toshihiko Sahashi. The popular series was followed with a sequel series in 2004 titled, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. Both the SEED and SEED Destiny series received HD Remastered editions in 2011 and 2013 respectively.

Announced in May 2021, the SEED series is celebrating its 20th anniversary with Mobile Suit Gundam SEED PROJECT ignited. The project includes the installation of the life-sized Freedom Gundam statue in Shanghai with a special video by director Mitsuo Fukuda to commemorate it, Gundam Docks at Shanghai event, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Eclipse manga, a new video game in development, and an anime theatrical film sequel to the SEED TV anime series, along with multiple cross promotions and collaborations.
