Bandai Namco’s hobby business subsidiary Bandai Spirits, has announced the Premium Bandai release for the Gundam Lfrith Jiu appearing in the High Grade The Witch from Mercury line of Gundam model kits.
Designed by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa, based on Ryoji Kansai’s concept, the XGF-01 [II 3] Gundam Lfrith Jiu is piloted by Kiyu Lavot in the Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury: Vanadis heart spin-off manga.
Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury: Vanadis Heart began serialization March 25, in the May 2023 issue of Gundam Ace, penned by Kozo Yoneyama and illustrated by Chika Toujou, with Mogumo and Kanetake Ebikawa returning for character design and mechanical design, respectively. The story takes place in A.S. 106, five years after the Vanadis Incident.
Clear black is used for the shell unit of each part of the mobile suit. The molds of the shell units for the head and chest are faithfully recreated, and foil seals allows for recreating both illuminated and non-illuminated states.
The model kit includes Jiu‘s signature “Tore no Te”(Tiger Claw) large composite weapon. The “Tora no Te” has two movable grips, and the arm section can be deployed by adopting a sliding joint. Each finger, except the thumb, on the “Tora no Te”‘s manipulator are independently movable allowing for a wide range of combat styles.
The HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Jiu is priced at 1,980 yen with a July 2023 release date through Premium Bandai.
