Publisher Kadokawa Shoten‘s Monthly Newtype magazine have announced the winners of their annual anime awards contest at Machi★Asobi vol.27 in Tokushima, covering anime titles that aired between June 2022 and July 2023. The big winners this year were Cloverworks‘ Bocchi the Rock!, A-1 Pictures’ Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night, and Sunrise‘s Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. From the thirteen categories, the Witch from Mercury won seven awards.
The awards were established in 2011.

Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury is directed by Kiznaiver‘s Hiroshi Kobayashi, and penned by Code Geass scribe, Ichiro Ohkouchi. The tagline of the series is “This witch…rides a Gundam”. The series began broadcast October 2, 2022 on twenty-eight of MBS and TBS TV networks on their 5pm “Nichigo” anime block, as well as simulcasted internationally. The Witch from Mercury completed its two season, twenty-four episode run on July 2, 2023.
