Designed by legendary mechanical designer Kunio Okawara, the GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam is piloted by deuteragonist Athrun Zala in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series. It is one of the four “G Project” mobile suits secretly developed by Morgenroete, Inc for the Earth Alliance, that were stolen by ZAFT at the beginning of the anime series. Excellent high-speed combat ability in space and air. The greatest feature is its transformation to mobile armor mode. It is constructed with a fundamentally different frame from the other four “G Project” Gundams.

A Gundam SEED theatrical film was first announced in May 2006 at Sony Music Anime Fes’ 06. The film, now titled Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, was revived in May 2021 with the 20th anniversary project “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED PROJECT ignited”. The tagline of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom is “A decided destiny, or freedom to resist-“, and will release to theaters January 26, 2024.

Story

Year 70 of the Cosmic Era. The Coordinators, a group of genetically enhanced humans, have moved into colonies orbiting the Earth. But that hasn’t quieted the tensions between them and regular humans; the conflict soon escalates into a full-scale war. On the neutral colony of Heliopolis, Kira Yamato, and his friends are going to school and just being kids. But when the ZAFT commando forces attack, Kira’s life changes forever.

Left with no choice, he and Federation officer Murrue Ramius are thrown into battle in a prototype mobile weapon, which Kira christens “GUNDAM.” Now, Kira must defend himself and his friends from his own people. For, unknown to anyone else, Kira is a Coordinator. And the enemy he faces on the battlefield is his childhood best friend, Athrun!

The Aegis Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED joins the ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E. lineup as the first transforming figure in the series.

The large thruster units on both hips and the back that stand out when the MS is seen from behind are designed to accentuate the mobility of the Aegis Gundam, and four specially shaped vernier effects are included.

It can also be transformed into an Attack Mode where the Aegis Gundam fires the 580 mm Multi-Phase Energy Cannon “Scylla”, its most powerful weapon, and a Scylla firing effect is also included. It is also standardly equipped with a 60mm High-Energy Beam Rifle and a Shield, which can be mounted onto the thruster units on the hips. The deployed states of the Beam Sabers fixed to the limbs can also be reproduced by exchanging parts.
