
Bandai Spirits premium figure brand Tamashii Nations has announced the seventh wave of the Gundam Universe figure line. The line of Gundam figures was launched early 2019 to bring affordable, quality six-inch figures to global consumers. The line’s main features are its “Kinetic Styling”, “Durable Construction”, and “Sharp Form”. The new wave of figures, consisting of Sazabi, Master Gundam, and Shenlong Gundam, will be released May 2022.
Designed by Yutaka Izubuchi, MSN-04 Sazabi was featured prominently in the Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack film, piloted by antagonist Char Aznable. Set fourteen years after the One Year War in U.C. 0093, Char’s Counterattack serves as the final confrontation between legendary rivals Amuro Ray and Char Aznable. Char has risen to power as leader of Neo Zeon and plans an all-out assault to decimate the Earth’s population to revive the planet. Released to theaters in 1988, Char’s Counterattack adapts Yoshiyuki Tomino’s 1987 Mobile Suit Gundam High-Streamer novel, grossing 1.16 billion yen at the box office.

GF13-001NHII Master Gundam is piloted by Master Asia in the 1994 Mobile Fighter G Gundam series, designed by Hajime Katoki. Set within the Future Century timeline, to escape the war weary Earth, the world’s nations migrated into outer space to establish space colonies. To maintain peace between these new colony nations, they compete in a massive fighting tournament with a representative Gundam and pilot, the victor nation is then allowed to govern space and the other colonies. The series follows Neo Japan representative Domon Kasshu, a hot-blooded, reluctant participant in the 13th Gundam Fight, searching for his brother Kyoji Kasshu, who has seemingly betrayed his family and nation.

Directed by Masashi Ikeda, then Shinji Takamatsu, the 1995 New Mobile Report Gundam Wing or Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is the second major Gundam entry not set within the franchise’s long running Universal Century timeline. Set in After Colony(AC) 195, growing tired of the oppressive ways of the United Earth Sphere Alliance and Order of the Zodiac(OZ), underground forces of the space colonies send five young pilots with advanced mobile suits to Earth in an effort to free the colonies from their grip.
