Gundam SEED Series Memorial CD-BOX Releasing in April



With the release of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom film and commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the Gundam SEED TV series, Sunrise Music has announced the release of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Memorial CD-BOX.

Priced at 17,050 yen, the Memorial CD-BOX consists of eleven CDs and is set to include approximately 300 pieces, focusing on the soundtracks of SEED and SEED Destiny, composed by Toshihiko Sahashi. It will also feature the original soundtrack of the ONA-side story Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E.73 -STARGAZER, composed by Megumi Ohashi, which is being released for the first time.

In addition to CD jackets featuring newly drawn illustrations, the set will include a booklet that reflects on the musical history of the Gundam SEED Series, piano sheet music for “Nicol’s Piano ‘Namida no Theme'” and “REY ZA BURREL’S PIANO Omokage” composed by Shinji Kakishima, and a storage box.

A limited quantity of the A-on STORE exclusive “Music Box Edition” has also been confirmed for release. The music box will play the iconic song “GUNDAM Syutsugeki,” and the case will be designed with GAT-x105 Strike Gundam. Reservations for the “Music Box Edition” will start today, December 25.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom will release to theaters January 26, 2024.

The tagline of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom is “You are there inside me. Am I there inside you?”.The film is directed by Mitsuo Fukuda, featuring a script by Fukuda, Chiaki Morosawa, and Ryu Goto. Hisashi Hirai returns for character design, while the mechanical design team includes Kunio Okawara, Kimitoshi Yamane, Kazutaka Miyatake, Junichi Akutsu, Manabu Shintani, Zenseava, Takuya Io, and Hiroyuki Taiga. Satoshi Shigeta returns as mechanical animation director. Toshihiko Sahashi is the composer for the film’s music, and the theme song “FREEDOM” is performed by Takanori Nishikawa with Tetsuya Komuro.

Story

In C.E.75, the fighting still continues.

There are independence movements, and aggression by Blue Cosmos… In order to calm the situation, a global peace monitoring agency called COMPASS is established, with Lacus as its first president. As members of COMPASS, Kira and his comrades intervene into various regional battles. Then a newly established nation called Foundation proposes a joint operation against a Blue Cosmos stronghold.
