Gundam Mk.II(A.E.U.G) ROBOT Spirits ver. A.N.I.M.E. Figure Releasing in October



Gundam Mk-II(A.E.U.G.) joins the Tamashii Nations brand ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> ver. A.N.I.M.E line of high end Gundam action figures. The “ver. A.N.I.M.E.”(Action New Imagination Memory Emotion) series features dynamic anime proportions and dense sculpting, as well as a state-of-the-art articulation system that allows fans to recreate the impressive action scenes from the figures’ respective anime works.

RX-178 Gundam Mk-II in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam episode 19 "Cinderella Four"

Designed by  mechanical designers Kunio Okawara, Mamoru Nagano, Yorihisa Uchida, and Kazumi Fujita, the  RX-178 Gundam Mk-II was manufactured by the Titans, but later stolen for use by the A.E.U.G. resistance movement. The mobile suit is piloted by various characters in the Zeta Gundam series but primarily by protagonist Kamille Bidan.

Airing from 1985 to 1986, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is set in UC 0087 taking place eight years after the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. The Zeta Gundam TV series saw the return of Yoshiyuki Tomino as director, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko as character designer, and Kunio Okawara as mechanical designer, joined by a team of new designers such as Mamoru Nagano and Kazumi Fujita. The series soundtrack is composed by Shigeaki Saegusa, who would go on compose for the two succeeding Gundam installments. After its initial broadcast in 1986, Zeta Gundam was followed with its direct sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.

For Zeta Gundam‘s twentieth anniversary, Tomino returned to direct Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation, a compilation film trilogy that revises the story with an alternate ending and blends new and old animation, released from 2005 to 2006.
