Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash to Collaborate with NewDays

The upcoming film Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway has begun its marketing campaign and will be collaborating with the train-based convenience store chain, NewDays. The campaign will run for two weeks beginning  January 27th.

Advertising jacks for the film will be displayed at two NewDays stores in Shinjuku Station, with a video shown through “NewDays Vision” and wrapping advertisements.

The first 10,000 customers with purchases over 800 yen plus tax will be given a limited Hathaway A4 clear file depicting the protagonist Hathaway Noa in front of previous Universal Century Gundam film posters.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway is the first installment in the film trilogy adaptation of the 1989 Yoshiyuki Tomino-penned novel series, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash. The film is set to release to theaters in Japan July 23rd.

Set in U.C. 0105, Hathaway’s Flash is the second entry in Sunrise’s UC NexT 0100 Project following Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative. Twelve years after the Second Neo Zeon War, the peace on Earth and its colonies is disrupted by “Mafty”, a terrorist organization bent on preventing the Earth Federation from privatizing the Earth to the privileged. Leading Mafty is Hathaway Noa, son of celebrated Federation Captain Bright Noa and pilot of the experimental RX-105 Ξ Gundam.

Genocidal Organ’s Shukou Murase is directing the film trilogy, with scripts by Yasuyuki Mutou, character designs by Pablo Uchida, Shigeki Kuhara, and Naoyuki Onda, and Hiroyuki Sawano returning as music composer. The films’ mechanical design team consists of Hajime Katoki, Kimitoshi Yamane, Nobuhiko Genba, and Seiichi Nakatani.
