Wonder Festival is the world’s largest figure festival that takes place twice a year. The first Wonder Festival(Winter) of 2020 was held yesterday February 9, from 10:00 to 17:00 JST at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
Toy/figure company MegaHouse attended the event and showcased some of the new additions to their high end Gundam figure line, Gundam Girls Generation/Gundam Guys Generation. Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack Amuro Ray was announced as the winner of their “commercialization decision” questionnaire. Kamille Bidan from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and Setsuna F. Seiei of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 were the 2nd and 3rd place runner-ups respectively.
A prototype of the winning GGG Amuro Ray figure was displayed at the MegaHouse booth along with a new Aida Surugan(Long Hair Ver.) figure from Gundam Reconguista in G , as well as May from Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE. The three figures weren’t priced or given release dates as of the event.
In addition to MegaHouse’s GGG figures, they revealed the prototype of their Full-Scale Works Earth Federation Forces Normal Suit Helmet, price and release date to be determined.
The Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam 1/144 HGUC Argama Catapult Deck from the Realistic Model Series was announced, releasing Fall 2020.
Wonder Festival also saw the collaboration between Character-apparel manufacturer Cospa with Gundam for Mobile Suit Gundam brand camping and fishing equipment.
